WORRY LESS IN THE NEW YEAR
So often we focus on all the things we'd like to add into our lives in the new year instead of reframing our intentions and removing the things that don't serve us. One thing that doesn't serve us is worry. We wanted to explore some ways we can be mindful and worry less this year.

DEFINITION OF WORRY:

  • a state of anxiety and uncertainty over actual or potential problems.

  • to give way to anxiety or unease; allow one's mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU WORRY:

Never worrying isn't a realistic solution but here are some practical tips.

  • Set aside a time to let the things you're worried about come to the surface.

  • Brain dump everything you are worried about and write it all down.

  • Make another list of all the wonderful things that are going on in your life. Even if it is as simple as "the sun came up today."

ASK YOURSELF QUESTIONS ABOUT YOUR WORRIES:

  • What’s the evidence that the thought is true? That it’s not true?

  • Is there a more positive, realistic way of looking at the situation?

  • What’s the probability that what I’m scared of will actually happen? If the probability is low, what are some more likely outcomes?

  • Is the thought helpful? How will worrying about it help me and how will it hurt me?

  • What would I say to a friend who had this worry?

UTILIZE OILS:

Essential oils have incredible power to enhance balance and harmony in our lives. Here are some incredibly powerful oils:

  • FRANKINCENSE: an emotionally grounding oil that can be diffused to create a grounding environment. Also, I love to put a drop at the top of my forehead when life feels chaotic to recenter my thoughts.
