New Year Habit : Prayer/Meditation
NEW YEAR HABIT: PRAYER/MEDITATION
Last week we talked about pre-filling our diffusers the night before and this week we are going to talk about another habit to help start our days off on a whole hearted note!
I don't know about you but sometimes when I wake up in the morning I'm immediately anxious about the day and mulling over some junk that tends to sit around in my brain. Enter: prayer and meditation! I want to challenge us all (myself included!) to do this every day this week.
Tips:
Don't look at your phone when you wake up
Create a little corner or space in your house that's tidy and undistracting and set it up the night before with a blanket and a journal and something inspiring to read.
Pre-fill your diffuser with something like Peace and Calming or White Angelica or Grounding.
Wake up before everyone else!
Set a timer and start with just one minute of meditation - when setting habits you want to start super small and let it evolve. If it's fun, you'll do it again!
Use an app like Calm or Headspace for guided meditation
I like to combine prayer and meditation - meditating first on what I want the day to feel like and how I want my heart to feel and then moving into prayer once I'm less clouded and centered
I also like to pray by writing, it keeps me from getting distracted
