It may be back to school and routines, but it’s still HOT in so many places! These would make the best after-school or weekend treat and the possibilities are endless! There is a recipe here and then ideas for other combinations too! -Lauren Dunaway

YOU’LL NEED

  • Distilled Water*

  • Vitality™ essential oils

  • Fruit or fruit puree

  • Optional: Vegetables, herbs, edible flowers, or Ningxia Red/fruit juice for a sweeter treat!

*If you’ve got the time, you can achieve a crystal-clear ice cube—perfect for showing off all the fruits and herbs inside. Bring distilled water to a boil, let sit for 30 minutes, bring to a boil again, let cool down, and pour into an ice cube tray. The boiling helps get rid of impurities and air bubbles for clear ice.

To me that is optional

LEMON-LIME ICE CUBES

  1. Cut one lemon and one lime into six pieces each and squeeze the juice from each wedge into a bowl

  2. Place the wedges into the bowl and add 6 drops Lemon Vitality™ essential oil and 6 drops Lime Vitality™ essential oil to the fruit and juice.

  3. Mix well to combine the juice with the oil and cover the fruit.

  4. Place a lemon or lime wedge in each ice cube mold.

  5. Cover with water and freeze!

It’s that easy! The key is to add the essential oils to something that will help their flavor disperse, such as fruit or puree, since oil and water don’t combine well.

Here are some other ideas:

  • Lavender-Peach (lavender springs, peach puree, and Lavender Vitality)

  • Raspberry-Rosemary (rosemary springs, raspberries, and Rosemary Vitality)

  • Grapefruit (Zested and peeled grapefruit, Grapefruit Vitality)

  • Blackberry-Basil (Blackberries and Basil Vitality)

  • Orange-Mint (Peeled and sliced orange, mint leaves, Orange and Peppermint Vitality)
