Emotional Education : Forgiveness

I'm going to share a personal experience with this oil. This oil is for anyone who has ever been hurt. Note: I am well-trained in Trauma, but Forgiveness is a whole other ballgame. So to be clear, this post is not a mandate on what I think anyone should or shouldn't do <3 -Eryn Jones

There was a time in my life, several years ago, when someone close to me let me down in a huge way. They unintentionally hurt me over and over again throughout my lifetime and they were beginning to hurt my family. I developed a bitterness towards this person and it settled deep where I could feel it in my body. Eventually, the bitterness became so ingrained that I felt ill whenever I thought about this person- even when they were no longer in my life.

At some point I realized I had to Forgive this person. It did not mean that I needed to let them back into my life, because they still did not know what they were doing to hurt me and my family, but I had no idea where to start with Forgiving! It's very hard to forgive someone who thinks they did nothing wrong. I had just began to use oils at the time so I put Forgiveness in my next ER order- just because of the name.

Full truth- I felt nothing remotely resembling Forgiveness at the time. So I looked up what other emotions this oil was good for, wanting to avoid feelings of Forgiveness.

THESE ARE THE OTHER EMOTIONS I FOUND WHEN LOOKING UP THIS OIL IN RELEASING EMOTIONAL PATTERNS BY CAROLYN MEIN*:

  • Betrayal (felt in the gut)

  • Lack of ability to Trust (felt in the gut)

  • Repeating past patters (felt in the gut/ liver)

  • Wanting Revenge (felt in the head, back of neck)

  • Self-Denial (felt in back of neck, base of scull)

These were all things I was feeling at the time and the places I was feeling them. So I decided to just use Forgiveness on these certain spots, topically. The oils in Forgiveness are HIGH frequency. It's like a blend of all the highest ones! So it did feel extremely uplifting when I started using it. I also noticed feeling a little lighter.

Big change came, though, when I began to meditate on the opposite of the above feelings. This had to do with supporting myself, finding awareness to honor my own truth, and detaching from letting someone else have a say over my worth and value. I meditated on these things, used the Mantras (below) and used my Forgiveness EO while I did. Oils are very powerful in helping to create new pathways in the brain!

After a month or two of inhaling Forgiveness every day, I realized that it was no longer about "letting someone else off the hook", accepting their apology, or even about them at all. It was about me. Forgiveness (both the emotions AND the oil!) led to freedom for me that I could be in control of. Whenever those bitter feelings come up occasionally, this oil and my mantras are my go-tos <3

MANTRAS WHEN USING FORGIVENESS EO*:

  • I Have Courage to Honor my Truth

  • I Learn from All Experiences

  • I Forgive (others or myself)

  • I Support Myself

  • I Am Worthy
