Emotional Education : Nutmeg
EMOTION EDUCATION WEDNESDAY: NUTMEG
Let’s chat about a seasonal spice that's good for more than just pumpkin 🥧 pie.
With the Holiday Season in full bloom, we are deep into the Hustle and Bustle. I wanted to share a couple ways Nutmeg helps emotions...especially during this time of year! You ever feel more short-fused when you're trying to check off that list and get stuff done? Me too 😉
A couple years ago, I heard from a wonderful N.D. about how Nutmeg oil can stimulate and help support our Adrenals.
WHAT ARE YOUR ADRENALS?
They are these tiny glands on top of your kidneys, near your middle low back, and are responsible for producing many hormones and regulating your "get up and go".
They. Are. Important!
When we over-extend ourselves and, especially when we run on fumes for long seasons- because life, our adrenals suffer. Been feeling like you don't have much "get up" or much "go"? 😉 I was in that same boat, and I decided to apply 2 drops of nutmeg to my adrenal area (for me- not very knowledgeable about anatomy- I put on lower back- just to the right and left of the spine). After a couple weeks of doing this twice a day, I noticed a significant increase in energy and also a decrease in irritability.
When our adrenals are burdened, with too much in our schedules, over working, too many emotions to process, or a new transition....then we get plain tired! It's harder to get out of bed, harder to play, harder to have a good time going about your day. For me, I get irritable, and snappy (to put it nicely!). When my adrenals are supported, then I'm more "Me", not Snappy Mom 😉.
Nutmeg is SO helpful during this time of year with all the go-go-go...and it is found in these favorites too:
Ningxia Nitro (great for busy or tired times)
Endoflex, a couple drops Vitality under the tongue in the am
En-R-Gee- great rubbed under the feet first thing in the am and after that mid-day slump
