Mardi Gras Prep

Mardi Gras and the Carnival season have always been fascinating to learn about and it is a very big deal for many around the world. It is the last day of Carnival and we thought it'd be fun to share a Mardi Gras craft and some tips if you are celebrating Fat Tuesday! -Katie Weber

KIDS MASK PRINTABLE

The Mardi Gras mask signifies freedom and historically it allowed the participants to be free from class restraints and celebrate regardless of status. Nowadays they are worn to add to the celebration and magic! They are typically very colorful and the colors are significant. Purple represents justice, green represents faith and gold represents power.

Here is a free printable if you're celebrating this year:

FAT TUESDAY TIPS

Interestingly, Fat Tuesday was named for the practice of eating junk food (rich, fatty foods) before the fasting season. While we totally love the idea of a day of celebrating by eating super yummy foods, here are some great things to have one hand so you don't feel bad the next day.

  • ICP Daily™ - if you haven't tried this it is worth it's weight in gold! Now reformulated, it is a daily prebiotic and fiber drink. Mix one scoop daily into water, NingXia Red®, or juice for a happy & healthy gut.

  • Essentialzyme - take right before your largest meal. Each caplet contains a unique blend of Tarragon, Peppermint, Anise, Fennel, and Clove essential oils. The enzymes combined with oils help tremendously before eating rich foods.

  • Life 9® is a probiotic that supports digestive health and gut and intestinal functions, leading to a healthier immune system. "Having probiotics in your gut helps you make the most of nutrients from your food, so when you eat a salad for lunch, you’re absorbing the most benefits from the spinach, carrots, and tomatoes." - YL Lavender Life

  • Both Tummygize and DiGize are blends made with essential oils from plants long associated with digestive support. We don't leave home without the TummyGize roller! A great complement to any meal so you can enjoy your food.

We'd love to hear how you celebrate Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras!
