Emotional Education : Vitamin D

It's estimated that between 40-70% of the US population is deficient in Vitamin D! The best source for getting Vitamin D is the sun, but with the higher need for sunscreen these days, and with the winter season coming up- supplementing Vitamin D can be super important for emotional well-being! -Eryn Jones

WHAT ROLE DOES SUFFICIENT LEVELS OF VITAMIN D PLAY IN OUR EMOTIONS?

  • Aids in executive functions of the brain- reasoning, flexibility, and attention

  • Keeps your risk lower for seasonal blues

  • Assists in memory functions of the brain.

A personal story: Last year, I had my Vitamin D tested in March and it was 11 (healthy levels are said to be 50+)! I started taking Super Vitamin D (a vegan formula) in June based on my Dr's recommended dose. I used them most every day for five months. In August I had my levels checked again and I was up to 36! A major help for me after experiencing such low emotional times when my Vitamin D was at 11!

I continue to take them today after my doctor researched Super D and was pleased with the formula! There are many Vitamin D supplements out there, but I feel good about Young Living's Super D. If you are not vegan, Omegagize can also be very helpful for Vitamin D!

Vitamin D plays a huge roll in so many things! Since most of us are deficient, it can be a huge help for our emotional well-being to have a good Vitamin D supplement routine.
