Oil Infused Recipe : Basil-Lime Mojito
Summer is here and so is the heat, and we love using our oils to cool off! Golden Dropper Ginny Brown posted this recipe a few years ago we knew it needed a repeat this summer. You can make this as a mocktail or cocktail, so treat yourself to this fun refresher! -Lauren Dunaway
Ingredients
Handful of blueberries
1 Drop Lime Vitality
1 Drop Basil Vitality
2 teaspoons sweetener of choice
Handful of fresh mint or basil leaves
1/4 cup (2 ounces) white rum (optional)
1 cup ice
2 tablespoons (1 ounce) ginger ale
Lime slice for garnish*
INSTRUCTIONS
Add most of the blueberries, Lime and Basil Vitality*, sweetener and most of the mint leaves to a cocktail shaker
Use the end of a wooden spoon or cocktail muddler to bash (or muddle) the mint into the oils and sweetener
Add rum if using, stir well then pour into a glass filled with ice, leaving about an inch of room, then top with ginger ale. If you aren't using rum you could use sparkling water or simply fill the glass with ginger ale
Garnish with extra blueberries, mint/basil leaves, and a lime slice!
*When cooking with essential oils or using them in a drink a little goes a long way! A drop of each is plenty in this recipe, or you can even start smaller and put a toothpick in the oil bottle and add a smaller amount
This recipe serves one, but you can easily adapt it to make more!
