prep 10 mins
cook 15 mins
total 25 mins
yield 6 -8 cubes
Make these essential oil beeswax candle melts using Citronella, Geranium, Rosemary, and Eucalyptus essential oils to help repel outdoor insects. You can also just use Citronella!
INGREDIENTS
3 ounces pure beeswax, chopped if using bars
1 Tablespoon coconut oil
8 drops Citronella
8 drops Geranium
8 drops Rosemary
8 drops Eucalyptus
INSTRUCTIONS
Melt beeswax and coconut oil in a double boiler on the stove, or measuring cup set into a pan of simmering water.
Once melted, remove from heat and let cool slightly, not allowing it set up. Stir in the essential oils and transfer to an ice cube tray.
Place in fridge or freezer until set. Pop out the cubes and store in an airtight container.
To use, place one cube in the top of a candle wax diffuser. Light the tea light candle underneath and allow the wax cube to melt. More essential oils can be added, if needed, for a stronger scent. The wax can be reused over and over, adding fresh essential oils when needed.
