Pumpkin Preserving Spray

Katie-Logan Weber shared this last year and it’s the best! October is pumpkin carving month. If you live in a warmer, climate or bugs are a problem, here's a way to make your pumpkin last longer and prevent mold/decay.

DIY PUMPKIN PRESERVING SPRAY

• Use an 8 oz. spray bottle

• Add 1/2 tsp (or one capful) liquid castile soap

• Add 10 drops peppermint essential oil and 10 drops tea tree essential oil

• Fill remainder with water

• Shake well

• Spray daily once your pumpkin is carved (my kids love jobs like this!)

OTHER PRESERVING TIPS:

• Keep out of direct sunlight

• At night, put in a plastic bag in the fridge or another cool spot in your house like the basement

• If you see pumpkin starting to wilt, put it in an ice bath overnight to rehydrate.

We would love to see your carved pumpkins! Share pics of them in the comments below!
