Organizing the Christmas Wrappings
ORGANIZING THE CHRISTMAS WRAPPINGS
As soon as the Christmas décor comes down, it seems as though the Spring Cleaning bug starts to hit at the same time. You can satisfy both urges with a few tips for putting away your Christmas wrapping paper and supplies.
Store all of your holiday themed wrapping paraphernalia together (wrapping paper, tissue paper, tape, bags, ribbon, gift tags, etc.). I like to use a clear under bed storage container, or you can search Amazon for “wrapping paper storage” and find some other useful options.
Tape a card to the outside of the container (or to the inside facing outward if using clear) that lists what’s inside. You may even want to add a small swatch of the different types of wrapping paper you have. That way when wrapping fundraisers at school come around, you can quickly spot what you have and what you need!
Consider putting extra holiday cards and envelopes in your wrapping box, along with a bottle of Christmas Spirit and some cotton balls in a plastic bag. Then you’ll be all set with the supplies you need for scented Christmas cards when the season rolls around again!
Take the few extra minutes to secure the loose ends of ribbon with tape or a straight pin. Sort and store like items together within your box. Trust me, it’s worth the few minutes of extra effort on this end so that you’re ready to go when holiday crunch time hits later.
If you buy gifts ahead of time and forget where you stashed them, consider a second storage container that you keep near your wrapping box. This keeps gifts and wrap together and provides a place where you can add gifts throughout the year. Be sure to label who they’re for when you toss them in the box!
Tell us about one of your favorite Christmas gifts that you gave or received in 2019.
