Ningxia & Elderberry Gummies

FALL RECIPE: NINGXIA & ELDERBERRY GUMMIES

This time of year, we need all the immune support help we can get, and these gummies are such a fun way to do it! Packed with immune supporting Ningxia, Elderberry, and oils and gut-healing probiotics and gelatin. Your kids will love these! I adapted this recipe from Danielle Walker’s Eat What You Love Cookbook using some of our favorite Young Living products!

INGREDIENTS

* You can grab these off Amazon! You can also make this recipe without the elderberries and replace it with an additional cup of Ningxia

RECIPE

  • Place the elderberries in the cup of water in a saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour.

  • Strain the elderberry juice through a fine-mesh sieve and return the juice to the saucepan.

  • Add the Ningxia to the elderberry juice.

  • Sprinkle the gelatin over the juice mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes until most of the liquid has been absorbed by the gelatin.

  • Return the pan to medium heat and warm the liquid (but don’t boil!) then whisk until the gelatin has completely dissolved.

  • Remove from the heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.

  • Add the Vitality oils to the honey. I like to do a drop of each and extra Orange! If you are worried about it being spicy for littles, you could do just the Lemon, Orange and Frank!

  • Whisk in the honey and the contents of the probiotic capsules.

  • Use a turkey baster or medicine dropper to fill candy molds* with the mixture. My molds came with a dropper!

  • Refrigerate for 3-4 hours until set!

*I grabbed molds off Amazon, but if you don’t have them you can pour the mixture into glass baking dishes, filling them about ½ inch up the sizes, then cut into squares once they are set.

These can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 weeks! I found some cute silicone pumpkin molds at the Dollar Store to make these and it’d be fun to find some other holiday molds too!
