Setting Your Thanksgiving Table
SETTING YOUR THANKSGIVING TABLE
It’s the week before Thanksgiving, and the lines at the grocery store are getting longer as people get ready for the biggest feast of the year! If you’re hosting the great shindig, now is the time to start thinking about your holiday table.
Linens: Dress your table with a beautiful cloth (I love this one!) or pull out the linen napkins for the big day. If you want the least fuss + easiest clean-up, roll out brown or white butcher paper for doodling, and use linen-like paper napkins like these or these.
Seating: Set out place cards so people know where to sit. You can use traditional folded paper place cards or use found objects like mini pumpkins, magnolia leaves, or large rocks. Let the kids help with writing and arranging the place cards. If you want to completely jumble things up, just set out place numbers and let your guests draw a number out of a basket when they arrive. Might lead to some interesting dinner conversation!
Décor: Keep your décor simple and short enough to talk over. I love to clip bushes and trees in my yard and bring the outdoors in with live greenery down the middle of the table. You can also add in fall squashes and pumpkins. For an oily touch, try making these floating candle jars. Place rosemary sprigs, orange slices, and a handful of cranberries in a jar. Add water and essential oils of your choice. Place these tealights on top for a beautiful, warm glow.
Music: Set up a Thanksgiving playlist on Spotify so Alexa can play in the background all day long. Tell us what songs you’ll be adding to your playlist in the comments below!
Kids’ Table: Butcher paper and cute paper plates and napkins are definitely the way to go! These divided paper plates and napkins are adorable, and these melamine ones are a fun option too. It’s also fun to set out a special treat like Reese’s cup pilgrim hats or Nutter Butter turkeys. And don’t forget the kids’ place cards too!
Oily touches: Be sure to have Thieves hand sanitizer nearby for cleaning up before digging in, and adorn all the sinks with Christmas Spirit foaming hand soap. Set out some fall room sprays like this one and fill those diffusers with your favorite holiday blend – Gratitude + Grapefruit is one of my favorite Thanksgiving combos! Set a Wolfberry Truffle at each person’s plate for a sweet ending to the meal. Roll on the Stress Away, breathe deeply, and soak in the moments with the people you love the most. It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
