DIY REED DIFFUSERS

Here is a great opportunity to head outside, breathe the crisp fall air and get a little crafty. Collect twigs in various lengths and widths to create a unique reed diffuser. Then pick a favorite ceramic or glass vessel with a small opening to house them in. I always love a good thrift store or pantry hunt for unique jars and vases.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Bake the twigs. Spread on baking sheet and place in heated oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

  • After twigs cool, peel the bark off using a vegetable peeler.

  • Pour 1 ounce of carrier oil into jar or vase, followed by 3 teaspoons of chosen essential oil.

  • Give bottle a swirl to combine.

  • Add as many dried, peeled twigs into jar as can comfortably fir into opening (the less of an opening, the slower the oils evaporate, maximizing the diffuser.

  • After 10-15 minutes, flip twigs so the soaked end is sticking up.

  • Place in a spot where you can enjoy it, on a desk, side table, nightstand, bathroom counter;)

These make the sweetest hostess and house warming gifts! Who will gift one this season?
