Weekend Prep : Self Love Series
"In the month of love, we will focus on ways we can show love to ourselves!" Last week we talked about simplifying and this week we are focusing on ourselves. Somehow, even saying the words "focus on yourself" can bring on a feeling of guilt. However, if we don't take time to honor ourselves with rest and restoration, we won't be our best selves towards others. - Katie Weber
HOW TO FOCUS ON YOURSELF:
Pick a day and block time in your calendar for YOU
Think about what brings you life and energy
Clean & prep food beforehand so you aren't distracted
Put your phone on do not disturb
Prep coffee and diffusers the day before.
ACHIEVING QUIET:
Consider swapping childcare with a friend or swapping time with your spouse
If you home is not quiet, find another great spot to go: outside, bookstore, coffee shop
Set up a place in your home that is just for you.
WHY TAKE TIME TO FOCUS ON OURSELVES?
Taking time to stop and do something we love, gives us the opportunity to check in with ourselves. Ask yourself these questions: How do I feel? How do I want to feel? Am I doing what I love?
It allows us to focus on gratitude & positivity
It will leave you refreshed resulting in greater productivity and motivation.
Increased awareness to the world around us
Helps fight fatigue & illness
WHAT TO DO?
Take a nice, long bath
Read
Nap
Make a vision board, journal and reflect
Making this a non-negotiable part of our lives is a key to being healthy physically and emotionally. Tell us what's your favorite way to focus on yourself!
